Description of the work:

Applications are invited for a PhD position at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience (Dr. Peter Fransson) at the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden. Our work is centred on applications of intrinsic brain activity (resting-state fMRI) in cognitive neuroscience. Ongoing projects are focused on intrinsic brain activity in the infant brain, the role of intrinsic functional connectivity in patient populations as well as pharmacological fMRI. Our lab is a part of the Department of Clinical Neuroscience and Stockholm Brain Institute- a centre of excellence for cognitive and computational neuroscience (www.stockholmbrain.se).

Qualifications:

A suitable background is a master degree in engineering, neuroscience, medicine or psychology with a strong and documented interest in cognitive neuroscience. We are interested in individuals who are highly motivated and talented and that can contribute with their own ideas and proposals. Proficiency in oral and written English in required. The post graduate study is full time and corresponds to a maximum of four years. Requirements for post graduate students are contained in the Högskoleförordningen 5 kap §§1-7.
